mamivac® Thermo-Pack is an anatomically shaped gel pad that can be used for warming or cooling the breast.
Thanks to its unique shape, it fits perfectly on the breast and lymph nodes. When used as a heat pad before breastfeeding, mamivac® Thermo-Pack can promote milk flow. After breastfeeding, when used as a cooling pad, it provides pleasant relief from tension.
Additionally, the Thermo-Pack can be used as a heat or cooling pad for the entire body, such as in the neck and shoulder area.
mamivac® Thermo-Pack is placed on the breast in the fleece protective cover, ensuring that the nipple is positioned in the cut-out area while the entire areola remains exposed. The long side of the Thermo-Pack should run along the lymph nodes under the armpits.
For heat application: Heat the Thermo-Pack in a hot water bath for about 10 minutes at a maximum temperature of 80 °C. Tap water (approximately 60 °C) is sufficient. The warm gel pad can be applied to the breast about 30 minutes before breastfeeding or pumping. It should not be heated in the microwave, as the material can become brittle and may crack.
For cold application: The Thermo-Pack can be cooled in the freezer at a minimum temperature of -18 °C. However, it is recommended to cool it in the refrigerator (about 1 hour) to avoid excessive strain on the skin. After breastfeeding or pumping, the cold Thermo-Pack can be applied to the breast for about 10 minutes.
