Efficient and versatile infant feeding helper

Our infant feeding aid in the form of a small cup offers quick and easy handling. It is ideal for situations where mother and child are separated and does not cause nipple confusion. The child's sucking need is not fulfilled, allowing for breastfeeding as needed. Additionally, it enables targeted feeding of the fatty hindmilk. Unlike using bottles, the child determines the amount and pace while drinking.

Instructions for use

In cup feeding, the awake child is first wrapped up to prevent it from hitting the cup. The cup is held to the baby's mouth so that the rim just lightly touches the lower lip. Then, tilt the cup so that the milk barely touches the baby's lips. The baby must now become active on its own. Preterm infants tend to lap up the milk like cats, while full-term infants are more likely to slurp and splash (consider placing a bib or diaper underneath). As with breastfeeding, each child has their own style and needs for pauses. The cup should be cleaned and disinfected (sterilized) before use and after each use.

Cleaning and Disinfection

To clean, soap solutions or mild alkaline detergents can be used. Disinfection can be performed with commercially available instrument disinfectants suitable for plastics. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding exposure times and application concentrations. Disinfectants containing phenolic compounds or alkylamines as active ingredients are not suitable. The item can also be disinfected by boiling for at least 5 minutes in boiling water.

Sterilization

The Babyfeed made of polypropylene is autoclavable up to 121 °C. A validated steam sterilization method according to EN 554 can be used for sterilization. We recommend not reprocessing the cups more than 100 times. Before each use, carefully check the cup for damage.
